The Four diamonds Epigenetics and Gene Regulation research Program led by Dr. Suming Huang in the Department of Pediatrics, Penn State College of Medicine is currently accepting applications Faculty position. The lab focuses on delineating the epigenetic pathways that regulate normal hematopoiesis and to further determine how regulatory networks are perturbed in anemia, leukemia, and solid tumors. Our current research focuses are: Investigating the underlying molecular mechanisms that connect chromatin loops with transcription activation of the TAL1/SCL oncogene. We are also studying the role of CTCF-mediated 3D genome organization in enhancer/promoter interactions, oncogene activation, and chromosome translocation during T-cell leukemogenesis. Dissecting chromatin insulator structure and studying the mechanism by which barrier insulator establishes and maintains active chromatin domains and promoter accessibility to control the hematopoietic transcription program and lineage differentiation. Delineating the role of long noncoding RNAs in hematopoiesis and leukemogenesis. We utilize a variety of approaches including biochemical, proteomic, genomic, genome editing, mouse modeling, human primary cell system, and ESC system to study these questions. Candidates should have obtained a Ph.D. or an M.D./Ph.D. degree and at least three years postdoc training in the fields of Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Development, or Genetics. The candidate should have evidence of prior productive scientific work in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior experience in the study of gene regulation, hematopoiesis, bioinformatics analysis, and/or use of mouse models is preferred. Interested candidates should upload here and send their Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter describing their background and research interests to email@example.com.
