A full time Research Technologist I position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Anirban Paul in the Neural and Behavioral Sciences Department at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey PA. The work in the lab is focused on neurodevelopmental disorders using mouse as a model system. The lab uses single-cell RNA sequencing, CHIP-seq, molecular biology, histology, FACS and pharmacological techniques in mouse. The successful candidate will conduct cell-type specific RNA sequencing experiments. Prior experience with common molecular biological techniques is preferred for this position, along with experience with animal care and breeding. Experience with RNA amplification and data analysis is ideal. Additional responsibilities will include supervising students in the laboratory, ordering supplies, management of laboratory expenses and upkeep of equipment. Candidates must be willing to learn new techniques, responsible, self-motivated, conscientious, flexible, a good communicator, and possess strong organizational skills. Preference will be given to candidates that possess the above skill sets. Please submit CV and three references. . Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree either in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or any other related field, with laboratory experience This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
