Description

The African Studies Program is looking for an energetic individual to act as a part-time Administrative Support Assistant to the Director. The successful candidate would be responsible for the oversight of various administrative duties. This includes answering the phone, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, greeting visitors, assisting with promotional materials for events, and reserving conference rooms. This position would also act as support to the faculty of the program. Typically requires a High School diploma plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The successful candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal skills and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. Knowledge of University budget policies and guidelines are preferred. The candidate must also possess exceptional oral and written communication skills and have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2019.
