Description

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for an Assistant Research Professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for research related to metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) growth of group III-nitrides and relevant materials characterization. Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field. Experience operating and maintaining MOCVD equipment is required along with a background in characterization methods such as XRD, AFM, Photoluminescence, etc. Good communication skills are required along with the ability to work in a team environment. This is a fixed-term 36 week appointment funded for one year from the date of hire.
