Research Data Analyst

The Population Research Institute(PRI) is seeking a Research Data Analyst. The successful applicant will provide statistical programming support to assist PRI associate and affiliate researchers’ projects in human population dynamics and processes. The successful applicant will show demonstrated experience in managing and analyzing data sets using Statistical Analysis System(SAS) and/or Stata. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously are strongly desired. The successful candidate should also have strong organizational skills, tolerance for occasional project ambiguity; a willingness to work with all levels of faculty and staff; and the ability to work both independently and in a strong collaborative/team-oriented environment. Additional preferred qualifications include: experience working with large-scale, longitudinal, social science data sets; familiarity with Linux computing environments and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark); experience with R; familiarity with GIScience approaches and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS). This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
