Description

The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator 3 to provide staff support to two full professors in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will: manage the daily administrative functions of multiple Penn State centers, prepare financial and operational reports; assist with preparation of short- and long-range budget plans; serve as facilities liaison to these faculty; review, submit and approve financial transactions within established guidelines monitor funds available, grant end dates and personnel expenses; arrange and coordinate travel and complete financial paperwork for assigned faculty, graduate students and scholars; oversee research group members to include pre-arrival, departmental onboarding and departure paperwork; maintain calendars; schedule appointments, meetings and arrange itineraries for visitors; coordinate functions such as conferences, workshops and other meetings; work closely with the Center Directors in development, forecasting and managing center funding. This position will perform work activities in a fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of re-funding.
