Description

The Assistant Director for Civic Engagement will be responsible for supporting the missions of the Center for Student and Civic Engagement and Penn State Altoona by coordinating a robust co-curricular experience designed to support student learning, build campus community, and encourage civic mindedness. Primary functional areas of this position will be: coordinating educational opportunities for and operationally advising the fraternity and sorority community as a civic engagement effort, developing on-campus and local service opportunities for students, creating leadership development opportunities that will enhance self-awareness, critical thinking, and soft skills, and developing programming for non-traditional and veteran student populations. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should possess superb interpersonal, organizational, and self-management skills. Weeknight and evening hours are expected. A valid Driver's License is required. This is a fixed term appointment position with an excellent possibility of refunding. This is an 11 month (July off), full-time equivalence position with full Penn State benefits included.
