The Solution Engagement Team in Infrastructure, a unit of Enterprise Information Technology (IT), is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative hands-on cloud architect to deliver enterprise technologies and solutions that facilitate staff, faculty and researcher outcomes and support University services at scale. This position will collaborate across the University to seek and develop enterprise-wide cloud-native solutions; architect scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant solutions that leverage AWS/Azure services; utilize appropriate AWS/Azure services to design and deploy applications based on given business requirements; implement Agile and DevOps practices; re-architect complex on-premise applications to be cloud-optimized; implement enterprise security; and advise and implement AWS/Azure best practices. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The successful candidate will employ a customer-centric approach to work alongside faculty, staff, and teams (specialized and service); have strong interpersonal communication skills; enthusiastically learn new skills and technologies, handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with a close attention to detail and minimal oversight; solve unique and complex problems; guide and coach a group of highly skilled technical and business professionals in the use of cloud-native technologies; assist in developing on-campus training.
