Be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for the administration and execution of the staff competency classification program utilized across the University. Provide day-to-day consultative support to HR Strategic Partners (HRSP) and HR Consultants (HRC) to ensure positions are accurately classified and meet compliance requirements, as well as federal and state laws. Regularly evaluate the needs of the University to create new, modify existing, and/or close out competency job profiles. Conduct analytical reviews of job responsibilities following defined processes/standards and recommend classification decisions that maintain consistency across the University. Respond to unusual and/or complex issues and help craft appropriate solutions. Maintain official records for databases and websites, requiring strong attention to detail. Participate in informal problem-solving meetings and strategic planning discussions regarding classification issues. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple work streams, work both independently and cooperatively with the compensation and classification team, human resources, management, and employees. The successful candidate also must demonstrate strong judgment and organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and a commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity.
