Description

The Smeal College of Business Professional Graduate Programs seeks to hire a Learning Analyst and Teaching Support Specialist. This position will be responsible to support two courses each semester including summer, fall and spring. The duties include: facilitate discussion boards; provide assignment/activity feedback; moderate/lead synchronous sessions; prepare/deliver guest lectures; consult individuals/groups via email/discussions; suggest best practices; assist with team dynamics and the administrative tasks related to position. This position also involves learning analytics and the duties include: collect, analyze and interpret diverse sets of educational data using statistical methods; use statistical software to clean, manipulate, and transform data for analysis; report and explain learning analytics using graphs, charts, and tables; conducts analytical interventions with course Creative Teams to guide a data-driven design process; ability to apply understanding of student behavior to promote innovation and engagement in graduate online classrooms. The successful candidate should have: Strong written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills; strong ability to explain the significance of student analytics to stakeholders; ability to manage tasks independently while working in a team environment; ability to use Excel, or Tableau for statistical interpretation to statistical analyses; and the ability to translate the significance of student analytics in the graduate online classroom. The minimum qualifications for this position are a Master’s degree in Business Administration, analytics or engineering; experience as an online graduate student, graduate online degree preferred; experience with collection, interpretation and communication of learning analytics; strong analytical competency and experience; and experience with analytical interventions in an educational setting. This position reports to the Director of Excellence in Teaching and Learning for the Smeal Professional Graduate Programs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded through June 30, 2020 with possibility of renewal.
