Description

The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State University (Clearinghouse) seeks a research project manager to manage an applied research project focused on evaluation. This position will formulate program evaluation designs with stakeholders, coordinate data collection interviews with key stakeholders; conduct evaluability assessments; create program and evaluation logic models, co-author technical reports and research products for external funders; review current curriculum and instruction materials, guide data management and quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The Clearinghouse is an applied research center, nationally recognized for its work that focuses on improving the health and well-being of military service members and their families. Our projects focus on topics such as parenting, building family resilience, preventing family violence, enhancing child and youth development, suicide prevention, obesity prevention, evaluation of mental health treatments for service members, veteran transitions from military to civilian life, and families at risk, among numerous others. Selection is dependent upon successful accomplishment of background clearances in accordance with Penn State Policy. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of military culture and military families, or a military background are a plus. The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in a social science field (e.g., social work, psychology, human development, or family studies). Experience in conducting evaluation is preferred. This position requires developing high-quality research and the successful candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills. The position requires significant travel. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
