The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at The Pennsylvania State University (Clearinghouse) seeks a part-time Research Project Support position to provide research expertise and support to professionals serving military families. The Clearinghouse is an applied research center that serves military families through program creation, selection, implementation and evaluation. The Clearinghouse nationally recognized for work that focuses on improving the health and well-being of military service members and their families. Projects focus on topics such as parenting, building family resilience, preventing family violence, enhancing child and youth development, suicide prevention, obesity prevention, evaluation of mental health treatments for service members, and veteran transitions from military to civilian life among numerous others. The duties of this position include developing implementation resources and materials; using evidence-based strategies improve program implementation and dissemination; assisting in the dissemination and implementation of project or program information; facilitating trainings about prevention science and the value of evidence-based interventions to professionals serving military families; and developing and identifying evidence informed tools and resources. Unit is open to telecommuting as an option for this position. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills. The candidate will implement high-quality research programming and must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Experience in family-focused prevention programs is preferred. Preference will be given to individuals that have experience working with, or knowledge of, military culture, military families, and/or military background. Candidate selection is dependent upon successful accomplishment of background checks in accordance with Penn State policy.
