The Office of Engineering Research Administration in the College of Engineering is accepting applications for the position of Business Manager (Administrative Support Coordinator 4) to lead the operations of research centers. This person will serve as a liaison between several centers and various constituencies including directors, faculty members, students, corporate members, research partners, funding agencies, and Penn State offices. Implement and manage services and activities for assigned research centers. This person will work with the directors and center participants to develop internal and external communications, to generate and analyze center data, and to prepare reports. Coordinate advisory board meetings and special events. Manage pre and post award activities for the centers; assemble, review and submit proposal packages; monitor awards and subawards, review expenditures for allowability and appropriateness; process budget revisions, no-cost extension and closeouts; provide information and obtain backup, track and coordinate cost share, membership dues, and personnel supported on center accounts. In addition, the successful candidate will work with faculty and staff members from across Penn State, nationwide collaborators and research centers. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates should possess strong writing and communications skills. Project management skills; demonstrated ability to work on multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines; experience working in both a team environment and independently; excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills; and a customer-centered, problem-solving, energetic approach to work are required. Proficiency with multimedia development and authoring tools; web content authoring; web standards and accessibility; and social media platforms are preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
