We value inclusion as a core strength and an essential element of our public service mission, and as part of this mission, the Office of the Corporate Controller is seeking a diligent, organized, and highly-detailed individual to process accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions, proper account set up and record keeping; calculating, posting, and reconciling duties to obtain primary financial data. This position will primarily complete work related to Penn State's deferred giving programs which include Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Pooled Income Funds, and provide back up to other Treasury related accounting and administrative functions. In addition, this position is responsible for processing gifts of securities, including serving as liaison with donors, brokers, and attorneys. This position works closely with the Office of Gift Planning to coordinate the setup and execution of Stock Gifts, Charitable Gift Annuities, and Trusts while ensuring full compliance with University policies and internal controls. This position will also be responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of tax reporting to Donors and quarterly valuation reporting, as well as identifying, recommending, and facilitating process improvements. Due to the financial or fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This position is expected to last from date of hire through December 2020, working approximately 20 hours per week.
