Description

This position provides staff support for over 35 full-time faculty members. The individual will type, edit, and proofread correspondence, schedule meetings, answer and screen telephone inquiries, and maintain confidential information as required by law. Duties include coordinating travel arrangements, making reservations, and processing reimbursements using the ERS/Concur online system; assist with arranging special events, committee meetings, guest speaker presentations, and field trips; assist with development, design, and production of publications; maintain inventory of classroom supplies for faculty; arrange for equipment maintenance; process work orders for facilities repairs/needs; track and monitor budgets, gather information and process expenditures for payment, and prepare fiscal reports as needed. This position provides support to the Honors Student Program, Teaching International Program, and several academic honor societies – tracking student information and arranging research conferences. In addition, assist the academic unit SRTE Representative to help maintain student evaluation data, monitor course offerings and enrollment, and compile reports of activity. Also accountable as secretary to the Faculty Senate governing body - attend meetings, and record, transcribe and distribute meeting minutes. Will also assist with support for program assessment, curricular development, and strategic planning. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. The successful candidate must have exemplary oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent organization skills. A high level of confidentiality, an ability to work in a team environment, and a genuine appreciation for working with diverse audiences is required. Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention.
