Description

Outreach and Online Education is seeking a strategic-minded individual with financial management experience to lead the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Penn State. This program is a volunteer-driven membership organization open to all members of the community – aged 50 years or better – who have a passion for learning. This position is responsible for the management and operation of the OLLI at Penn State in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures. The OLLI at Penn State consists of two locations, University Park and York. This position also serves as the director of the University Park location. The director ensures that all performance expectations are met while supervising staff, including the director of OLLI York, and several volunteers. The director works with volunteer leadership to identify programming opportunities, develop community partnerships, identify funding opportunities, and promote OLLI membership. Developing partnerships and collaborations is a critical element of the position as is outreach to stakeholders. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in volunteer management, higher education and/or nonprofit management. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Excellent computer skills is required. We value candidates who are forward-thinking, open-minded, and flexible. Requires some evening and weekend work. Some travel is required. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate the ability to advance Outreach and Online Education’s diversity initiative.
