Compliance Specialist (OPP Security Coordinator)

The Assistant Vice President’s Office, in the Office of Physical Plant (OPP), is seeking an OPP Security Coordinator (Compliance Specialist). The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for developing and implementing access management strategies and procedures for the Office of Physical Plant, for all its employees to all managed facilities and coordinate personnel access with the other work groups that we serve across campus. The successful candidate should have a strong working knowledge and experience managing physical keys, key cabinets, electronic access, and other access credential devices to develop a comprehensive and cohesive access management program that complies with University access management and facility-relate policies, procedures and best practices. Knowledge of Office of Physical Plant operations is highly desirable as the position will oversee access management for personnel impacting campus-wide operations. Responsibilities serving as the primary Master Access Coordinator for the Office of Physical Plant; coordinating the access management efforts of other Access Coordinators from other work units; overseeing audits and ensuring compliance with University policies; ensuring proper documentation of all access-related requests; oversight and approval of all OPP-managed keys and electronic clearances; management and tracking of distributed keys; assisting in managing OPP key boxes and other key accountability strategies; providing user input for key coring strategies of OPP-managed facilities; oversight, management, and routine auditing of OPP electronic access clearances, unlocking schedules, and personnel; providing input regarding OPP access management and other security requirements; educational outreach to OPP employees regarding access-related policies, procedures, and best practices; and identification, training, and functional oversight of other OPP Access Coordinators, as needed, to accomplish the same. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of security best practices, be able to collaboratively work with and communicate with diverse audiences, and be able to creatively solve challenges and needs associated with managing access across a diverse audience and wide-spread area. The position will report to the Facility Coordinator for the Office of Physical Plant. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
