The Center for the Protection of Children (CPC) at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital is seeking candidates for a research assistant to work in the Stine Foundation Transforming the Lives of Children (TLC) Clinic. The TLC Clinic is a specialty service within the Department of Pediatrics treating children, adolescents, and families who experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and/or other types of maltreatment. The TLC Clinic is located at 2626 N. 3rd St. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This is a 16-hour per week grant-funded position starting as soon as possible, and running until at least April 30, 2020. The primary responsibility of the position is to conduct assessments with children and families who have allegedly experienced child maltreatment and are participating in clinical trials. Other responsibilities include scheduling assessment sessions, assisting with data entry and management, and assisting with participant recruitment and retention. Specific qualifications include minimum of senior-level standing in an undergraduate program majoring in psychology, social work, or a related field. Students (undergraduate or graduate) interested in obtaining research experience are encouraged to apply. Prior experience working with children in some capacity is preferred.
