Description

The College of the Liberal Arts is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated System Administrator to join our ITLA (Information Technology in Liberal Arts) team. Primary duties include: Managing our JAMF environment in the cloud; provisioning Apple computers for Mobile Device Management; creating software packages for deployment through JAMF; managing our SCCM environment on premise; utilizing SCCM for hosting and deploying Windows images and software packages. This position will consult on the appropriate college-wide software as well as assess and make recommendations for new software solutions that comply with Penn State’s infrastructure and policies including security guidelines. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Code42 Crashplan, Cylance, Splunk, and Security Enclaves is preferred. Working knowledge of server administration, networking, cloud technologies, and security best practices is required. The ideal candidate will possess experience with JAMF and SCCM along with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, Windows Active Directory, IBM BigFix and Sassafras KeyServer. Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to successfully interact with a diverse audience. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills are critical to this position. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and require minimal supervision as well as have a positive attitude, and an enthusiastic approach to new ideas. Key attributes for the individual are: creativity, adaptability, and accountability, multi-tasking various projects in parallel, and working efficiently within a team environment.
