Penn State Behrend Information Technology Services has an opening for an Information Technology Specialist II position. This position will provide elevated IT, audio visual, and video conferencing technical support for all instructional labs and classrooms, conference rooms, and auditorium locations on campus. The IT Specialist II position will also perform mission critical emergency support for audio and visual/projection problems, troubleshoot general device connectivity problems, perform podium control system programming, and oversee operation of equipment management and control software. Duties will also include providing technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students for on and off-campus instructional systems and related devices, coordination of the transport and installation of equipment and materials to teaching and resident hall labs, provide support for lab upgrades and ongoing maintenance of student lab systems, and maintenance of an accurate database of in-use and in-storage equipment for the purpose of forecasting life-cycle upgrades and warranty claims. Finally, this position will develop training materials for distribution via a variety of mediums, coordinate in-person event support, oversee support for electronic testing services and willing accept responsibility for any other duties assigned. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate hardware and software diagnostic skills, have an aptitude for documentation, and demonstrate an exceptional commitment to customer service. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience: 5 year’s industry experience in related fields. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
