Description

The Re-Imagining IT (RIT) Administrative Support Assistant (ASA) is a new role and will be an integral member of the RIT team. This position will be responsible for ensuring that administrative and logistical circumstances are smoothed out to aide in the success of Penn State’s IT transformation. Directly assisting the Executive Director, the ASA will be at the front line helping to move administrative obstacles out of the way to ensure his time is used most efficiently in a fast-paced 2start-up environment. The growing RIT team will also require assistance as they seek to engage with stakeholders across the University. The ASA will support meeting scheduling, event and meeting logistics, procurement and payment processing, presentation preparation assistance, notetaking, travel coordination and other administrative duties as needed to aid the success of RIT. The ASA will also coordinate various RIT advisory councils as well as creating and maintaining intranet (sharepoint) sites related to these efforts. Supervision of graduate assistants and vendor staff will be necessary to assist with the execution of assigned tasks. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional years of proven practical experience supporting a fast-paced executive is highly desirable. Experience in a higher education setting along with an entrepreneurial spirit and finely tuned relationship building skills are desired. Inherent leadership skills along with a big picture orientation will be important for success. The RIT Administrative Support Assistant will need to be comfortable with ambiguity and is expected to confidently act with a high degree of excellence working with RIT stakeholders across the University. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
