Description

The Metals and Ceramics Processing Department of the Applied Research Laboratory is seeking a graduate student to research and support various activities related to the development and implementation of novel ceramic and metal materials. Duties will include fabrication, testing, and analysis of these systems. Students must have a Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Engineering Science, or Applied Physics and must be enrolled at Penn State as a graduate student working towards an advanced degree. The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours per week over the summer. Successful candidates typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or above during their junior and senior years. Candidate selected may be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
