Description

Provides support to faculty, staff, students, and corporate clients in assigned areas of our buildings. Assists users with various computer hardware and software issues, multi-media requirements for classrooms and auditorium; analyze and diagnoses user problems. Assists in special IT Department projects, as required. Characteristic duties and responsibilities: assist faculty, staff, and corporate clients with the technology available in the classrooms and the auditorium. Assist in laptop setup, presentations, Video conferencing, Polycom supports, Classroom technology supports, videotaping, lighting, etc.; Analyze and diagnose user problems with office automation, telecommunications, multi-media, and computer terminal equipment and software; recommend appropriate repair. Provide support to faculty, staff and students in the use of various computer hardware (computers, printers, label writers, peripherals) and software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook etc). Must be knowledgeable and resourceful in obtaining and providing information regarding the University’s technology available to faculty, staff, and students. Be knowledgeable in the use of enterprise-wide web based systems to assist students, faculty, and staff in their learning and business related responsibilities. Review multi-media equipment classroom setups daily, assuring the equipment is available and ready to use for instructors. Analyze and follow-up problems reported to the Help Desk. Process requests for technology equipment for faculty and staff assuring equipment is reserved and available when needed. Maintain computer center help desk and labs, advising department staff of issues that need attention. Assure labs and workstations are clean, and report administration needs Minstto IT department staff. Accept special projects as required from IT department staff to include software setup, computer configurations, database projects, etc. Minimum qualifications: education and training; knowledge and training in specialized or administrative program. Work related experience: preferred, but not required. General: must demonstrate good people skills, the ability to learn quickly, the ability to assess problems and provide relief to situations that require instant resolution. Must be open to learning a variety of specialized skills related to multi-media, networking, web, and project management capabilities. Certifications/Registrations or Licensure: preferred but not required. Physical Requirements: be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodation.
