Penn State Financial Information Systems seeks an innovative Applications Programmer/Analyst who is self-motivated and interested in working within a driven and positive team. This individual will design, develop, deploy, and manage web-based programming and database applications. This individual will work on administrative applications used within the Corporate Controller’s Office as well as deployed University-wide. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with developing database-driven applications, an understanding of the software development lifecycle, and familiarity with accessibility standards are preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate competencies in the following areas: secure web development; ColdFusion; HTML; CSS; Git version control; MS SQL databases; CommonLook PDF Validator; the willingness to adhere to design and development standards; the ability to work both independently and cooperatively; a commitment to fostering diversity and contributing to a team driven culture; strong analytical skills; sound judgment and organizational skills; solid verbal and written communication skills; customer service orientation; and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
