Within the Engagement Team of the Penn State Alumni Association, the Student and Young Alumni Programs team is the primary source of engagement opportunities and relationship building for current undergraduates and recent alumni. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student and Young Alumni Programs, the Coordinator is responsible for assisting the team in the planning and implementation of all activities, programs and events in the Student and Young Alumni Programs unit. Through effective programming, this individual works and collaborates with the Associate Director and other colleagues in the Alumni Association, and other University departments to achieve increased levels of engagement for young alumni. In order to meet specific goals of the Student and Young Alumni Programs team, the Coordinator helps to identify and implement opportunities to engage young alumni through University initiatives. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating programs specifically designed for recent alumni to foster an understanding of Alumni Relations and the life-long relationship they can develop with Penn State. The Coordinator will oversee outreach and program management to engage recent graduates in support of their transition from students to alumni. Working with the Associate Director, the Coordinator will develop annual and long-term strategic initiatives to integrate these constituencies within the large cohort of alumni relations via programming and communication expressly focused on these audiences. This position manages the Young Alumni Ambassador program and is a representative on the Young Alumni Task Force. The Coordinator will assist in recruitment of Young Alumni as alumni volunteers and develop positive and open communications with our current volunteer leaders. This position will work closely with other University departments to engage young alumni. The Coordinator will be knowledgeable in national, industry, and Penn State specific demographic research and trends for the young alumni cohort. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree plus two years of work related experience. Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; be attentive to detail; have the ability to handle multiple priorities/deadlines. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
