The Undergraduate Admissions Office at Penn State is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Part-Time Admissions Representative in the Atlanta area. This position will be responsible for attending and representing Penn State Undergraduate Admissions at local college fairs and high schools in the Atlanta area. Ideal candidates will provide outstanding customer service to prospective students and families and serve as a friendly source of information for those interested in attending any of the 20 Penn State campuses. Reporting to an Assistant Director for Admissions and working collaboratively with all admission colleagues and local alumni clubs, the regional representative is charged with providing the highest quality recruitment and customer service to achieve enrollment goals. Candidates will be expected to collaborate closely with the Undergraduate Admissions team, follow the goals and strategies outlined by the Admissions Office, be knowledgeable in all areas related to the admissions process at Penn State, and be willing to assist with special projects as needed. Candidates must be available and willing to work nights and weekends with most, but not all, of the work taking place September through November in the fall and February through June in the spring, with an average of 10-15 hours of work a week during those time frames. Minimal work will be done over the summer months, but Part-Time Admissions Representatives typically travel to University Park in late July to assist with the Spend a Summer Day program. Preferred candidates will be Penn State Alumni that have outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, as well as a passion for helping students, providing outstanding customer service, and supporting student success at Penn State. A valid driver's license and transportation to various locations is required as well as successful background checks. Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is required. Demonstrated public speaking experience and excellent written and oral communication skills; proven ability to successfully plan, prioritize and multitask, work with distant supervision, and follow through to meet deadlines; advanced computer/technical proficiency; must be willing and able to work some evenings and weekends.
