The School of Public Affairs at Penn State Harrisburg is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support to its Health Administration Graduate Program, Health Policy Administration, Political Science and Public Policy undergraduate programs. Primary duties and responsibilities: Provide various academic and administrative duties for the coordinators of assigned programs to include, but not limited to: answer phones, maintain calendars, schedule rooms/meetings, reviewing, screening, and directing mail and e-mail; compose and type routine and confidential correspondence; file routine and confidential documents; assist with resident and on-line programs admission and advising processes, create and maintain various spreadsheets/databases. Assist faculty with appropriate changes/deletions to degree audits and respond to inquiries from current and prospective students—grade changes, academic standing letters, graduation check sheets, etc. Coordinate travel arrangements for and prepare travel reimbursement through ERS. Provide support to the other School of Public Affairs programs and faculty when time allows. In addition, this position will also be the Outreach and Communication Liaison for the School of Public Affairs which includes working with PSH Marketing Department, coordinating ads, sponsorships at conferences, event coordination, and overseeing marketing material repository. Candidates should possess excellent customer service skills and enjoy working with diverse audiences. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously is important. A working knowledge of University-specific platforms such as Employee Reimbursement System (ERS), LionPATH, and 25Live is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) is required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year with excellent possibility of re-funding.
