Description

Business Services is seeking an individual for a part-time driver position available beginning Fall 2019 for 20 hours per week at a rate of $12.00 per hour. The working hours will typically be Monday-Thursday 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.; the schedule can change occasionally to provide coverage. The working hours will be during the academic school year only (end of August through beginning of May). This position consists of driving campus vans on established routes and schedules, and special assignments to transport passengers. The job duties include: read and record odometer readings as assigned, check general operation of vehicles daily, such as fuel level, tire pressure, headlights, turn signals, and emergency and stop flashing lights, doors, windshield wipers, horn, etc., report malfunctions and/or needed repairs. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties and MUST be 25 years of age or older with a valid driver`s license. A successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Requires the use of simple writing, adding, subtracting, whole numbers and the carrying out of instructions; and the use of fixed gauges and direct reading instruments and devices in which interpretation is not required. Requires a High School diploma or higher plus up to and including 3 months of effective experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal communication along with customer service skills. The individual should be flexible, able to work both independently and collaboratively with minimum supervision, and have demonstrated ability to interact with diverse members of the public, as well as students, staff, and colleagues within the University.
