Penn State Law’s Clinic and Experiential Learning Office is seeking candidates for an Administrative Support Assistant. This position will serve as the first point of contact, in serving as receptionist, for clients and guests of the Law Clinics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; providing administrative support to the Director of Clinics and Experiential Learning and other clinical faculty and staff within the Law Clinics; preparing correspondence, creating and maintaining office files, planning and scheduling meetings, conducting conflict checks, scheduling travel and processing reimbursements as well as processing all incoming and outgoing mail. This position serves as a technical resource within the unit for software support to students, faculty and staff for various software programs including Canvas and ERS. This position will also help with the planning of events. This position will be housed in the clinics office in Innovation Park and will, from time-to-time, be responsible for projects that will require travel to the Katz law building on campus. The hours of this position will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with a one hour lunch break. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Canvas, ERS, Power Point and Microsoft Office is preferred. Employment experience in a law office setting and/or higher education is preferred but not required. Attention to detail, a high level of organizational skills and being able to work with a diverse population are essential for this position. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be able to work on projects individually as well as in a team environment. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
