Serves as the Undergraduate Program Staff Assistant for the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for the Undergraduate Program in the IME department. Reports to the Undergraduate Program Coordinator. Duties include: Assist students, parents and faculty with policies and procedures related to the undergraduate program. Maintain and review academic records and update degree audits. Monitor decisions regarding petitions in the CSRS (Course Substitution Request System) as well as monitoring the College of Engineering Workflow System. Interact with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator, faculty and staff to resolve issues. Assign faculty advisors to students and enter advising notes in Starfish as needed. Assist with course scheduling, and updating course characteristics such as controls, attributes, enrollment limits, etc., utilizing LionPath. Maintain the department’s internal lab schedule. Certify students for graduation and manage the department’s minor programs in Six Sigma, Product Realization, Service Enterprise Engineering and IE/IST. Responsible for requesting midterm, evening and final exams. Utilize university systems (iTwo and LionPath) to pull a variety of data including student lists, class ranks, email addresses and graduation lists. Main point of contact for academic requests such as adding/dropping students from courses, grade change forms, and administrative course cancellation forms. Provide weekly communication to students and work with the department’s communication strategist for web, print and media publicity. Monitor and file course proposals related to curriculum changes. Manage prerequisite checking and substitutions. Coordinate SRTE (Student Rating of Teaching Effectiveness) and mid-semester evaluations for teaching assistants each semester and collect and compile information gathered from the post-graduation forms of graduating seniors. Maintain the Undergraduate Program Handbook. Represent the department at various College and University meetings. Assist and attend the department’s orientation for new students in the Fall and help organize the graduation receptions held in the Fall and Spring semesters. Assist with visits of prospective students and their families as well as with events such as Major Night, Spend a Summer Day, etc. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor of Science degree preferred. Knowledge of and experience with LionPath,, Microsoft Office, and excellent communication and computing skills are strongly preferred.
