The College of the Liberal Arts Information Technology – Planning, Effectiveness and Communication (PEC) team - is seeking a Purchasing Assistant, who will be an advocate on behalf of the College Community and the primary coordinator of our computer replacement process. The responsibilities as the advocate include managing/prioritizing incoming requests/incidents for PEC as well as ensuring our services meet and exceed our users’ expectations. The responsibilities as the coordinator of our computer replacement process include managing the computer inventory (database) and the physical computer inventory including assistance with the receipt of hardware and software technologies; Provide ITLA (Information Technology Liberal Arts) general administrative support such as coordinating meetings, arranging and reimbursing travel, documenting the IT departmental budget, and ordering office / kitchen supplies. The successful candidate will focus on providing strong customer-focused services through clear communications and effective and timely interactions. This position will work closely with the College of the Liberal Arts administrative assistants to understand the basic computer operation needs of our faculty, staff, and graduate students. As a member of the ITLA team, this position will support and encourage a culture of continuous improvement. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience with IBIS, ERS (Employee Reimbursement System), Ebuy system, and PSU Purchasing Card purchases, policies and procedures. ServiceNow ITSM (IT Service Management) system is preferred. Knowledge and experience with SharePoint is a plus. The candidate must be an excellent customer advocate, must be able to interact with professionalism, provide a high level of verbal and written communication and customer service. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and require minimal supervision. In addition, the ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, an enthusiastic approach to new ideas and an optimistic view of the future for Penn State Information Technology. Be able to acknowledge, manage, and close incidents/requests in ServiceNow ITSM (IT Service Management) system; Key attributes for the individual are: creativity, adaptability, and accountability, multi-tasking various projects in parallel, and working efficiently within a team environment.
