Behrend Information Technology Services (BITS) is now accepting applications for the position of Student Consultant. Consultants staff our three Help Desks across campus and provide first line technical support to computer lab users, on and off campus residents, faculty and staff who are having issues with their personally owned devices, and phone-in clients. Daily activities include lab walk-throughs to establish and maintain proper conditions, maintaining supplies and clearing jams in the computer lab and kiosk location printers, fulfilling the role as first responders in instructional classrooms, and performing simple to advanced technical repairs or support on student owned computers and hand held devices. Student staff schedules are very dynamic and change from semester-to-semester, and all employees could be scheduled to work at any of the Help Desk locations. Student employees are expected to be independent thinkers who exercise good judgment and display professional attitudes. Opportunities for advancement exist for those with an exceptional work ethic, personal integrity, and strong technical and interpersonal skills.
