This position serves as the Coordinator of the Pennsylvania Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Education and Training Program curriculum development grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The Coordinator is responsible for developing, editing, and revising curriculum for the Pennsylvania Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff basic training academy and waiver training academy, continuing education courses, instructor certification and re-certification training, and additional courses as determined by the contract. The Coordinator manages, develops, and maintains the budget of the grant. The Coordinator leads the contract support staff and subject matter experts (SMEs) in meeting contract requirements by prioritizing and communicating project tasks and establishing deadlines. The Coordinator reviews the work of all team members and ensures the quality and consistency of the curriculum. The Coordinator serves as liaison between the PCCD curriculum manager, SMEs, and support staff. The Coordinator oversees development, design and production of instructional components, including online course development. The Coordinator will oversee the conversion of substantial portions of the traditional curriculum to a blended format of classroom instruction and online training. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must possess excellent communication, writing and editing skills, and great attention to detail. Candidates must be self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This position requires the ability to research, identify, summarize, and effectively communicate content specific to Pennsylvania sheriffs and their duties. Experience with Canvas Learning Management Systems is necessary. The position requires an intense knowledge of office operations and computer systems with competency in numerous computer applications including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding. This is a 75% reduced full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Will work 30 hours per week.
