The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking an Information Technology Support Specialist. Major duties include supporting Windows and macOS desktops and laptops, peripherals, projectors and other hardware and software. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Experience with Android or Apple iOS devices a plus. Must have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 in an Active Directory environment and have the ability to troubleshoot macOS. Candidate must have a working knowledge of TCP/IP and related common network protocols. Must be able to build computers manually and use automated tools. Also, must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite products, and other common applications. Must have knowledge of and experience with providing remote support using telephone, email, and common remote support tools. The candidate must be well organized and possess excellent written and oral communication, customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting and must have the ability to multi-task and work in a diverse atmosphere.
