Description

The Vice President for Administration is currently seeking applicants for the position of Administrative Support Assistant. This position is responsible for operation of the correspondence system (paper and electronic) for the Office of the President in consultation with the Vice President for Administration. Responsibilities include the review, disposition and follow-up of the President’s mail. Research and confer with appropriate offices on issues brought to the President’s attention for appropriate course of action and response. Track responses for issues referred to other units to assure timely reply. Draft correspondence for President and Vice President for Administration. Provide administrative support to the Vice President for Administration and others within the Office of the Vice President for Administration. Proofread and edit correspondence. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The successful candidate must exercise discretion and independent judgment, be a leader and have the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize work assignments. Strong organizational skills, institutional knowledge, a positive, service-oriented attitude, and excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong computer experience with Office 365 are strongly preferred.
