Seeking Penn State Behrend undergraduate students with broad engineering skills and interests to work at the Innovation Commons in Burke Center. Students will work with entrepreneurs, inventors, industry, professors, teachers, and other students primarily on product development projects ranging from simple mechanical inventions to complex, multi-component prototypes. The Innovation Commons functions as a free service for the Erie region, and therefore it is essential that its workers represent the university and its values well in every setting. The Innovation Commons seeks students from all engineering-related majors who can work independently, self-manage, and learn what they need to know with minimal assistance. Team-oriented work ethic is essential. Students with Summer availability will be preferred, but this is not a requirement. Duties vary, including but not limited to: product development projects, machine build projects, 3D printing and machine maintenance, CAD work, presentations, tutorials, brainstorming sessions, meetings, record keeping (notes and database updates), and general ingenuity. Availability for occasional travel is favorable. This application will require a resume and online application. Hiring will occur as positions open.
