Penn State Wilkes-Barre is seeking applications for two undergraduate student research assistants to provide administrative and research support for a Virtual Reality (VR) project. The project is focused on surveying engineering, therefore, applicants must be familiar with surveying or be willing to learn about surveying. Students majoring in computer science, computer engineering, surveying engineering or related disciplines will be given first consideration. Applicants must possess high personal motivation, self-management, and be detail oriented. Strong verbal and written communications skills are required. Preferred candidates will have experience with: programming, databases, XML, VR, game design, and/or 3D modeling. Applicants must have strong computer skills and the capacity to learn new software, research methods, and work routines quickly. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in the development of a VR application, organizing data, and assisting with research. Applications must have the ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision. This research period will be completed by June 30th. Hourly rate of pay is $10.00
