The College of Arts and Architecture ‘s Information Technology team seeks an experienced and versatile Information Technology (IT) professional to lead its User Experience group. The successful candidate must be a utility player who can fill several IT roles competently, as needed. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Administration and IT, responsibilities include: managing projects; providing high-level deskside support to end users; oversee student assistants and/or interns; managing hardware/software lifecycle refreshes; managing user accounts; printer and print queues. Coordination with Penn State IT services, including co-managing classroom equipment, and providing end-user education and training, are within the job’s responsibilities. This position will supervise our User Experience team, and will ensure that continuous quality improvement initiatives are appropriately implemented and carried out within functional areas. The successful candidate will have service management experience, as well as excellent customer service, communications, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supporting PC and Apple computers and mobile devices is required. Candidates should also have intermediate knowledge of most or all of the following specialized experience: backup and disaster recovery technologies; network administration; digital signage systems; software deployment methods and systems; and skills in analyzing and maintaining A/V equipment.
