Description

Reports to the Parking Operations Supervisor in Transportation Services, and is responsible for greeting and directing visitors, controlling the entry and exit to assigned parking areas, cashier duties for hourly parking, selling parking permits and providing campus transportation information for University Park Campus. Due to the location and duties of the job, attendants are exposed to various weather conditions throughout the year. Some activities occur outdoors, to include maintaining outdoor electronic equipment and restocking ticket dispensers. Excellent customer service and communication skills are a must due to the one-on-one interactions with Penn State visitors, faculty, staff and students. Must be able to work independently. Qualified candidate must also demonstrate a working knowledge of conflict negotiation skills, which are required for controlling access to campus parking locations. Computer skills with knowledge of MS Word and Outlook are desired. This position is a daylight position Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with good possibility of re-funding.
