B.S. Engineering Applied Materials at Penn State DuBois is accepting applications for five undergraduate Research Assistants for Summer, Fall and Spring 2019 to assist faculty members with their research agendas. These positions are open to Penn State DuBois undergraduate students, but students from other campuses who live near Penn State DuBois campus will also be considered. The successful candidates should be highly motivated in pursuing research work in materials synthesis and characterization, and demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or better, and/or those who can demonstrate critical thinking skills, will be given preference. Responsibilities include: processing of powder metal parts as well as the use of characterization tools (training will be provided) that include scanning electron microscopy, tensile testing and dilatometry. Hands-on experience in metallography lab and good computer skills will be a plus but is not mandatory. These positions are available immediately and will be open until filled.
