The Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) is hiring a full-time Programmer/Analyst to be part of the implementation and support team for a commercial suite of research administration systems. These systems support researchers across the university, review boards and committees, and compliance office staff at all campus locations. This position will work closely with other programmers, functional analysts and consultants to provide users with a streamlined, integrated and more usable process and system. Day-to-day tasks typically include the design, development, testing, debugging and documentation of new or improved system features. Regular tasks also include the ensuring proper operation of system upgrades and modification and support of features in the software to meet institutional needs. Success in this challenging position requires strong analysis, design, programming, report creation and testing skills. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Candidates should have a strong understanding of object oriented programming and be capable of working within existing system architecture to enhance and extend functionality using scripting and the administrative capabilities of the system. Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services or similar reporting tools is desirable. Experience with JavaScript, C# and Agile/Scrum software development methodology is preferred. Experience with automated testing frameworks (such as Selenium) and research compliance administration (Internal Review Board, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Institutional Biosafety Committee, University Isotope Committee, Conflict of Interest) is a plus. In addition, candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, and be able to work independently.
