Description

The Undergraduate Admissions Office has an immediate opening for a Functional Business Process Analyst who is eager to work with end users, learning their processes and systems, with a desire to solve problems for others. The primary purpose of this position is to improve undergraduate admissions business processes which are critical to building a talented and diverse class across the 20 Penn State undergraduate campuses. These positions will support the office's functional business processes throughout the admissions cycle. These processes leverage enterprise systems such as Slate, CMS, MyPennState, LionPATH, a document imaging system, The Common Application, and Coalition Application, etc. Primary responsibilities include: Business Process Analysis and documentation; working with stakeholders to develop and review detailed functional specifications; system/application configuration; monitor, diagnose, debug and modify processes and procedures as needed; create detailed test plans and test; develop training materials and train end users; develop, modify and run reports and queries; work with external organizations, vendors, and other Penn State units to maintain the systems used by the Undergraduate Admissions Office; and other duties as assigned. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The following qualifications are highly preferred: Knowledge of Penn State Undergraduate Admissions procedures; effective customer service and communication skills; experience in eliciting business process requirements; excellent organizational and time management skills; strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills; ability to learn new concepts and processes quickly, ability to communicate specialized concepts effectively with others at all levels of specialized proficiency; ability to understand and analyze data to recognize system or data anomalies/problems and suggest corrective actions. Knowledge of Slate, Mura content management, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is highly desirable. This is a fixed term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
