This position is open to Penn State Wilkes-Barre undergraduate students only. The Office of Strategic Communications and the Information Technology department are jointly seeking a responsible and dependable intern for a summer Web and Public Relations Assistant position. This individual’s focus will be on creating, editing, and posting content on the campus website and on our social media presence (e.g., Facebook, Twitter). This content will include (but is not limited to) articles, feature stories, events, and announcements. The intern will interact with people across campus to gather new ideas and information and develop them. The intern must be able to write and edit well, be comfortable with social media and working with computers, be articulate and comfortable working with a wide range of individuals, be a self-starter who doesn’t need constant supervision, be responsible and dependable, eager to learn, committed to quality and detail oriented. Preferred candidate will be able to take good photographs, be familiar with basic HTML and CSS, be experienced in writing for the web, be comfortable with a graphics editor for cropping, resizing, and editing images.
