Description

The Research Cores (OVDRGS) at the Penn State College of Medicine offers state-of-the-art, centralized laboratory resources to our internal researchers and the global research community. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your business skills to a growing academic medical research system. An ideal applicant will have a strong background in business finance, project management principles, and operational process improvement. This position will report the Research Resources Operations Director and responsible for managing a variety of financial activities for the Research Resources area including completing IBIS transactions, initiating invoicing and billing events in iLab, reconciling and correcting financial information. Other key skills will include software/systems support, data analysis and reporting, as well as strong marketing and communications skills. Experience with IBIS is a plus. This position will also be active in various projects related to the Research Cores including those related to the Cores Strategy. Other duties as assigned, may involve supervising the work of others and providing technical support for a variety of systems. Other responsibilities include tracking and monitoring the status of a variety of projects and participate in the project development process. May also take a lead role in some projects as part of Research Resources mission. Further, applicant may assist in evaluation of institutional cores and provide systematic recommendations for outcome evaluation, and change management. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
