Description

The Smeal College of Business is seeking a candidate for the Program Support Assistant-20 hours/week, for the Professional Graduate Programs (PGP). The position reports to the Online Programs Coordinator for PGP and the Director, of Excellence in Teaching and Learning. For Excellence T&L, this position will be responsible for regular communication with PGP faculty, Teaching Support Specialists (TSS) and Learning Design groups, in order to provide administrative support for program initiatives related to professional development and recruitment/hiring/onboarding. Responsibilities will include coordinating meetings/events, updating of program website/courses/database, coordinating the TSS application/interview/onboarding process, and facilitating questions/inquiries of faculty/TSS. For Online Programs, this position will be responsible for communicating with prospects and tracking incoming students for over ten different online graduate programs. Responsibilities will include communicating via email and phone, receiving applications and tracking the admissions process, updating systems, solving admissions problems, and attending to impromptu projects. Desired candidate skills include: concise, detailed, and prompt written communication, ability to work with Penn State systems/platforms, upbeat, positive, clear, and prompt verbal communication, ability to organize many details for a variety of different but related programs, capacity for logical thinking and driven to seek answers to questions, complete assignments independently yet work collaboratively, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, ability to change processes and plans with agility. The anticipated start date for this position is approximately July 2019. Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or equivalent combination. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
