Penn State Great Valley is seeking an Assistant Director of Business Services. This position supports the Director of Finance and Business (FO/DBS) in overseeing campus operations and facilities management of the Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Services in Malvern, PA. Hires, trains, and supervises campus maintenance and janitorial staff; prior supervisory experience working with collective bargaining units is preferred. Maintains awareness and ensures compliance with applicable University, government, and regulatory requirements. Controls receiving, inventory, and proper usage of various types of equipment and inventory. Monitors assigned budgets; approves invoices for payment. Provides general level of technical expertise to our internal and external customers. Serves as primary point of contact with the Office of Physical Plant (OPP) for facilities maintenance, repairs, and alterations; monitors charges and work performed; investigates and reports building problems; directs emergency maintenance repairs; manages vendor relationships (e.g. landscaper, vending company, copier leases, etc.). Typically requires an Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidate must have the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, promote an environment that recognizes the value of diversity in the workplace, and deliver high quality customer service. A proficiency in Office 365 is a plus. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
