Outreach Information Technology is seeking an IT Security Officer that will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing OIT's Information Security Program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information managed by OIT. Develop and administer system and information ownership; information and data classification guidelines; standards and procedures. Develop, establish, and manage standards, procedures and guidelines to promote the security and uninterrupted operation of computer-based application systems. Identify and address exposures to accidental or intentional destruction, disclosure, modification, or interruption of information that may cause serious financial and/or information loss. Build and implement security awareness programs and performs procedures and assessments necessary to ensure the safety of information system assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Investigates, documents, and resolves information security incidents. Advises management of critical issues that may affect customers, suppliers, OIT and/or Outreach and Online Education. Oversees the risk assessment and information security awareness processes. Interfaces with end users as well as all levels of management, and specialized and business sources. Responsible for a deep understanding of business processes and technology used within OIT to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and OIT’s applicable procedures, processes and standards. Acts as a representative on higher risk projects to ensure that information security risks are managed and the risk assessment process is followed. Provides administration of security documentation, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with changes in business or regulatory drivers. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have strong documentation skills and familiarity with change control processes and be able to work effectively with business organizations, understanding their needs and showing tact and judgment in developing specialized solutions and analyzing/diagnosing specialized challenges. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and the ability to advance Outreach’s diversity initiative. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
