This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support Penn State University’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Manager of Compensation and Classification and working under guidance of Senior Compensation Analysts, this position will primarily conduct analyses and provide recommendations regarding salary setting. Act in a consultative capacity to Human Resources community and unit hiring agents; works closely with the Classification and Talent Acquisition teams to resolve compensation matters. Partner with Classification team on department reorganizations and equity reviews. Develop collaborative client relationships to support effective compensation service delivery. Recommend and contribute to development of pay structures and market adjustments. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following: knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws; ability to manage projects; ability to work both independently and cooperatively with various levels of faculty, and staff; excellent analytical skills including use of spreadsheets for data analysis, excellent judgment and organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; an outstanding customer service orientation; a commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
