Description

The Department of Biobehavioral Health seeks a Research Technologist to help coordinate and conduct animal research on the role of genetic and environmental influences on drug behaviors. The successful candidate will work in coordination with a team of investigators to see the completion of a research project. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, testing animal behavior, administering drugs, collecting, preparing and analyzing biological samples, conducting administrative tasks like preparation of research regulation documents, ordering supplies and keeping inventory, scheduling laboratory work and student assistants, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing laboratory equipment, entering and analyzing data, and assisting with personnel training and management. The successful candidate will have specific and considerable experience in several of these research domains. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must have: experience conducting research with rodents, prior molecular biology experience, and ability to supervise student research assistants.
