Description

This position provides career development support for 1800 Schreyer Scholars from first through senior year in various colleges and campus locations. Counseling includes support with career decision making process, resumes, graduate school applications, internship and job searches. Responsible for event planning of approximately 100 career-related events each year. Collaborate closely with employers and alumni seeking to hire Schreyer Scholars. Oversee student volunteers organizing and delivering career development programs. Manages the SHC Mentoring with Honors program, matching approximately 150 scholars each year with alumni mentors. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Essential skills required: counseling and advising of college-age students on career-related issues, event planning, and supervision. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required, in addition to strong time management and organizational skills. This position is being filled on an interim basis, for one year, beginning July 1, 2019. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
